海角社区 Engages in Intellectual Property and Quantum Celebration

On Thursday, October 16, 2025, undergraduate and graduate students from Chicago State University (海角社区) joined Dr. Mohammad Abdus Salam, Professor and Chair of the Department of Computing, Information and Mathematical Sciences, and Technology (CIMST), along with Professor Dr. Jan-Jo Chen and Prof. Melvin Miller, at the IEEE Region 4 Meeting on Intellectual Property and Quantum. The event took place at 200 South Wacker Drive, 4th Floor, Discovery Partners Institute, Chicago, IL.

Titled 鈥Celebrate Intellectual Property and Quantum,鈥 the event was a collaborative celebration of intellectual property and quantum innovation, co-hosted by IEEE and the Illinois Intellectual Property Alliance (ILIPA). It brought together a diverse community of patent attorneys, IP professionals, quantum researchers, engineers, business executives, students, and academics for an engaging evening of professional networking and knowledge exchange.

Two insightful panel discussions explored the intersection of intellectual property, patents, quantum technology, and innovation, offering valuable perspectives on the emerging trends shaping the future of science and technology. Representatives from IEEE Women in Engineering also shared remarks highlighting the growing role of women in STEM fields.
