Grants & Awards

The CTRE invites faculty to apply for a range of grants each year. These grants are competitive and are designed to support unique projects and faculty development opportunities that advance the mission of the university. There will be one main round of grant offerings this year. Travel Grants will be accepted on a rolling basis. The amount to be awarded will depend on the number of applications received. Grants for travel are not to exceed $1,200.

Grants are available to faculty and are reviewed by the CTRE Faculty Advisory Board based on carefully set criteria provided in the application materials. All materials should be submitted as a single PDF. Click the descriptions below to access grant information.

CTRE Grant Descriptions

The CTRE grants support special projects around research, teaching, student engagement, and faculty development. Review the descriptions and criteria below to find out more.

The Seed Grant provides financial support for new and innovative research projects and other projects that result in a proposal for external funding. New and early-career faculty are especially encouraged to apply, however all faculty including those in advanced stages will be considered.

The purpose of the Faculty Travel Grant is to provide financial assistance for faculty to participate in development activities that directly enhance the individual's research and/or teaching. These funds may only be used for travel to present at conferences. Faculty are eligible to apply for these funds with the approval of the respective department head. Priority will be given to projects that could lead to promotion to associate or full professor/clinical professor etc. Reference should be made in the application to the documented departmental promotion standards. Award amounts are up to $1,200 for up to 2 faculty members per academic department.

This grant supports faculty in the pursuit of novel or innovative professional development activities that directly enhance their research and/or teaching. Funds are competitive and can be used to support equipment purchases, or other resources related to research, teaching, and assessment.

Submission Guidelines

All grant applications must be submitted online by the deadlines listed. If selected, you may be asked to submit supporting documentation.
